What This Product Is and How It Works

The Arrow Granite Drill Bit 12 mm is a hardened drill accessory engineered for drilling into very hard stone materials like granite and similar surfaces. Unlike ordinary masonry bits, granite bits often use a diamond‑enhanced cutting surface that abrades the stone gradually rather than chipping it like standard carbide tips. This allows for cleaner, more precise hole creation on granite and other hard stone when used with a drill at appropriate speeds.

These bits are typically used without hammer action—low to moderate drill speeds help reduce surface cracking while the cutting surface abrasively removes material.

Material Quality, Durability and Environmental Performance

Arrow granite bits are usually manufactured with a durable, hardened body and a diamond‑related cutting segment suited to extremely hard substrates. Diamond‑enhanced cutting surfaces resist wear and abrasion, ensuring a longer usable life compared with uncoated steel bits when drilling granite and ceramic.

When drilling hard stones in Kenyan conditions, water spray or coolant can be used to reduce heat and dust, improving bit life and surface finish. Proper technique and lubrication help mitigate the high friction encountered in stone drilling.

Installation, Handling and Compatibility

This 12 mm bit fits standard drill chucks; ensure the drill is set to rotary (no hammer) and run at controlled speed. Mark the drilling point and consider a starter guide or tape to prevent wandering. Apply light, steady pressure without hammer impact. Cooling with water significantly reduces heat and protects both the bit and the work surface.

Wear eye protection, gloves, and a dust mask to protect from abrasive stone particles. This bit is not suited for metal or wood drilling; use appropriate bits for those materials.

Typical Applications in Kenya

This drill bit is commonly used for drilling fixing holes in granite, ceramic tiles, marble, and stone surfaces in finishing and installation work. Typical uses include fixing tile anchors, plumbing access paths in stone walls, mounting brackets on kitchen countertops, and creating holes for plumbing or electrical fittings in hard stone facades or interior finishes.

It is widely selected by tilers, masons, and construction installers. For related drilling accessories and stone‑drilling solutions, customers can browse the full range in our Shop or explore the Power Tool Accessories Category.
